The Wharfedale Linton Heritage is a three-way stand-mount speaker with dual rear ports. For best sonic performance, we recommend placing this speaker on its dedicated stand with a minimum distance of 18” from the back of the speaker to the wall behind it. With an efficiency rating of 90 dB and 6 ohm impedance, it should not present any difficulty to a quality amplifier.

“These speakers do an impressive job of capturing something of an older, fuller, more easy and open style of hi-fi sound without forgetting to make the music exciting.”
The Creative Audio Review
Demo track: ‘Thunderstruck’ by AC/DC. When we first hooked up the Wharfedale Linton Heritage, they just looked like they wanted to play that song and play it they did! In our opinion, Wharfedale has struck the perfect balance in these speakers, which are a remaking of the original Linton from 1965. The sound character of that vintage design has been updated to deliver the accuracy and precision we’ve come to expect from modern speakers. This is thanks to the drive units, which feature Kevlar in the bass and midrange drivers. As you’d expect from a British design, these present a smooth sound that is detailed but never harsh or bright. They will pair well with most amplifiers, however hook them up to a top-notch source and amp your ears - and soul - will be rewarded. Our one-line review: we love them.
Creative Audio Pro Tips
The Wharfedale Linton Heritage will sound great right out of the box, but will sound even better after 100 hours of use.
Experiment with placement in relation to the back wall. Placing the speaker closer to this wall will emphasise the bass but could also lead to a congested mid-range. Find the position that strikes the right balance for you and your room. A distance of 18-24” will probably be ideal.
We always recommend a quality speaker cable to connect your speakers.
The optional, matching stands will bring the speakers to the optimal height for a seated listener.
