The Marantz story began in 1952 at a kitchen table in Queens, New York. It was there that Saul Marantz built a preamplifier that performed so well, his wife and friends encouraged him to make more. The first 100 units sold rapidly and soon he had a backlog of orders. In 1953, he founded the Marantz company.

From those humble beginnings this now-legendary company went from strength to strength. Perhaps most famous for their 22xx series stereo receivers of the 1970s (still highly sought after by vintage audio enthusiasts), today Marantz continues to develop and manufacture award-winning stereo amplifiers, CD players, and streamers, as well as a full range of surround sound receivers, processors, and power amplifiers.
