Design
If you’re of a certain age, the Luxman L-509Z looks like the quintessential amplifier. The soft satin silver finish of the precision machined metal front panel is the perfect backdrop for vintage design cues:

As you would expect from a precision Japanese-made instrument, the fit and finish of the Luxman L-509Z is second to none. This is quality you can feel, in the fluid movement of the rotary controls and the solidity of the control buttons. The build serves the purpose too, minimizing internal vibration of circuits which would negatively affect the integrity of the musical signal.
Technology
It may look vintage on the outside, but inside the L-509Z is filled with Luxman’s latest advances in amplifier technology. Fanatical attention is paid to the entire signal path:

The attention to detail extends to the layout and construction of the circuit boards. Luxman’s “beeline” topology ensures the shortest signal path for delicate audio signals. Function
Use the Luxman L-509Z, with its incredible resolution capability, to power a high-end stereo system. A pure, analog-only design, it includes the following inputs:

2 XLR (balanced) line-level
1 RCA phono (accommodates both MM and MC cartridges)
Delivering 120 watts per channel into 8 ohms, and 220 watts into 4 ohms, the Luxman L-509Z is capable of driving difficult speaker loads.
Creative Audio Pro Tips
The Luxman L-509Z will sound great right out of the box, but will sound even better after 200 hours of use.
Always keep the top of the amplifier clear to allow for adequate ventilation (we recommend a minimum of 3-5 inches). Do not place the unit in a closed cabinet.
We always recommend quality interconnect cables both from your source(s) as well as to your speakers.
