In the Press

This combination of purity, balance and dynamics is hard to find at any price and makes the L-507z an especially good value.

Design

It’s the retro charm of the Luxman L-507Z that gets you right from the start. The beautifully finished silver metal faceplate is the backdrop for this amp’s vintage style cues:

  • Large backlit VU meters

  • Rotary tone and adjustment controls

  • Large rotary volume and input controls

It’s made in Japan, so of course the fit and finish is superb. Each rotary control moves with silky smooth precision, and each button press is satisfyingly tactile. There is a feeling of heft and purpose, and that build serves the ultimate goal of this amplifier: to minimize unwanted internal resonances that would negatively affect delicate signals and mask musical detail.

Technology

It may look like the amps of yesteryear, but inside the L-507Z is thoroughly modern and bristling with cutting-edge Luxman technology. When dealing with delicate analog signals, the quality of every component in the signal chain is important. At every stage you will find advanced solutions:

  • LECUA 1000 volume control

  • LIFES amplifier feedback system

  • highly regulated power supply

There is a fanatical attention to detail in every aspect of the L-507Z, even down to the layout and construction of the circuit boards. “Beeline” topology provides short signal paths and non-angled traces allow for smooth signal transmission. Subtle nuances in the the musical signal are preserved and the proof is in the audible level of detail in your favourite music.

Creative Audio Pro Tips

  • The Luxman L-507Z will sound great right out of the box, but will sound even better after 200 hours of use.

  • Always keep the top of the amplifier clear to allow for adequate ventilation. Do not place the unit in a closed cabinet.

  • We always recommend quality interconnect cables both from your source(s) as well as to your speakers.
