...supremely musical yet now with a degree of resolution, detail, and neutrality that will effectively reveal everything that is on any source you care to feed it. I never tired of listening to it.

Technology

In Luxman’s flagship CD player, they have provided the ultimate mechanism for reading the digital data off the disc. The LxDTM-i transport has been engineered to minimize unwanted vibrations and resonances. 8mm thick aluminum sides and a 5mm thick steel top plate and integration into the structure of the entire machine, plus an improved disc reading mechanism ensure the purity of the original digital signal.

Having been carefully extracted from the disc (or accepted via the digital inputs), the Luxman D-10X then sends the digital signal to two ROHM Semiconductor BD34301EKV DAC chips (one per channel). This CD player was the first model in the world to use these new chips, and Luxman’s commitment to only the best in music reproduction shows their confidence in the capabilities of these tiny pieces of silicon.

We call CD players digital sources, but of course ultimately they must output an analog signal. The work of the Luxman D-10X is not over once the digital signal is converted to analog. The analog section is fully balanced and features Luxman’s proprietary feedback technology. Thick copper foil, gold-plated connections, and gently curved wiring patterns are hallmarks of Luxman’s circuit board design. All of this intense attention to detail is in aid of one thing: reducing distortion and delivering your music with the natural touch Luxman is famous for.

Creative Audio Pro Tips

  • The Luxman D-10X will sound great right out of the box, but will sound even better after 100 hours of use.

  • We always recommend quality interconnect cables to your amplifier.
