Understanding the Linn Selekt DSM Classic Hub
With the Selekt DSM, Linn has created the most configurable digital music hub in the world. Its modular design not only allows you to configure it to your exact needs today, but to also potentially improve its performance in the future. Baseline: The Hub
The Hub is the main unit of a Selekt DSM system. With its built-in networking (wired Ethernet and WiFi) the DSM Hub can connect to major online streaming services such as TIDAL, Qobuz, and Spotify, as well as internet radio. It is also Roon Ready and includes Apple AirPlay 2 as well. In addition to these networking features, the DSM Hub also has digital, analog, and phono (MM and MC) inputs, as well as an HDMI ARC input.
In the picture at left we have highlighted two areas in red; these are spaces for optional upgrade modules that will turn the Selekt DSM Hub into the perfect system for your needs.
Note that if you already have active Linn speakers with Exakt technology, all you need is the Selekt DSM Hub. Most, however, will not have these and so will need one or more cartridge modules as shown below.
Creative Audio Pro Tips
The Linn Selekt DSM Classic Hub will sound great right out of the box, but will sound even better after 200 hours of use.
Always keep the top of the unit clear to allow for adequate ventilation. Do not place the unit in a closed cabinet.
