One of the most important components in the design of any headphone is the enclosure; any vibration or resonance of the enclosure can affect - distort - the sound coming from the driver itself. This has the effect of obscuring fine detail. Grado is famous for experimenting with different enclosure materials and in the SR325x they are made from metal.

As the flagship model of the entry-level Prestige Series, you would expect a truly hi-fi experience, and they do not disappoint. What is immediately apparent is the increased size of the sound stage - the space the musical performers play in is vividly portrayed, transporting you to the performance. There is also a massive amount of fine harmonic detail on offer - we always liken this to the difference between hearing a bass note and hearing the player’s finger rub against the string. Sound Advice

  • The Grado SR325x will sound great right out of the box but they will sound even better after around 50 hours of use, a period known as ‘break in’. During this time the suspension of the drivers will relax and the end result is a deeper, more natural bass and smoother high frequency extension.

  • You can plug the Grado SR325x directly into your phone, tablet, or computer, but you’ll get an even better experience with a dedicated headphone amp.
