The Creative Audio Review

When designing a home theater system, you always want to make sure that your centre channel speaker is tonally matched to your main left and right speakers. This allows for a seamless sonic experience from your front speakers, which are reproducing the majority of the sound and also that sound most important of all: the dialog. DALI’s Oberon Vokal is designed to work seamlessly with their Oberon series of bookshelf and floorstanding speakers. All of the wonderful qualities of those speakers come together in this centre channel design which will give your surround system sparkling clear dialog and superb dynamic punch for those explosions and dinosaur roars. Of course, it’s just at home playing music when you want to watch your favourite concert in surround sound.

Sound Advice

  • The DALI Oberon Vokal will sound great from the moment you start using it, but they it sound even better after 50+ hours of use, when the drivers have been broken in.

  • When placed beneath the TV, if your stand is particularly low, try angling the DALI Oberon Vokal up, such that it is firing its sound to your ears, rather than your knees.

  • A good quality speaker wire with banana plug connectors will give the DALI Oberon Vokal the opportunity to sound its best.

DALI Oberon Vokal Technical Specifications

We provide this information from the manufacturer for those who want to know or who find it interesting. In our opinion, however, you shouldn’t pay too much heed to technical specs. How a component reacts to test tones in a lab bears little relation to how it will sound at home playing music, a far more complex and nuanced signal than any test tone. Knowledge is power and the best knowledge is not how a component ‘sounds’ to a computer, but how it sounds to you.
